Went out on a road trip with my dad to Oregon, looking to capture fall colors, and was blessed to capture waterfalls and lighthouses along the way.
We headed out Tuesday, October 20th from the Bay Area, and navigated our way to Burney Falls for the first stop. The park was only opened for day use, due to too much traffic that was entering the park during COVID. We navigated our way down to the waterfall trail head. There were a few others there to take in this awe inspiring waterfall. The water cascades down from multiple different rocks and the water originates from springs, so it is constantly flowing even during summer time.
From here, we traveled along 89 North, and found a bridge that crossed over Lake Britton. There was a turnout that we parked at and walked along the base of the bridge, and were given an incredible view over the lake. While here, we found a trail that led us to an abandoned rail road bridge.
Our next stop was McCloud Falls - Middle Falls. We hiked down to the base of the falls and had a snack with a view. Of the three different falls on this river, middle falls has to be my favorite with the ability to get up close and personal.
Our last stop for the night was Lake Siskiyou, where we took in the views of Mt. Shasta, and a had a restless nights sleep due to a surprise visit from a black bear that roamed through our campsite. Overall great day, anxious night, but awesome start to the trip. Day 1 - 350 miles travelled.
